Q: What can I expect in a beginning group class lesson?
A: Kids classes will cover a total of 9 core dances, with 2-3 being covered in each class period. At the beginning of class, we will demonstrate the pattern that we are learning. Next, we will divide the class into leaders and followers, to learn their parts separately, before dancing their parts together. They will dance once or twice with each partner before rotating to another partner in class. After several partner rotations, you will dance the pattern with a partner to music.
Q: Do I need a partner?
A: Nope! We rotate partners during class, so that everyone gets to dance. If your child wants to be involved in competitions or show routines, we will work to find a partner for them.

Q: What is the proper attire?
A: For beginning group classes, thin-soled dress shoes will work if you don't have ballroom shoes. You also can purchase ballroom and latin shoes online, or there are a few stores in town, including The Glass Slipper and The Leotard that carry ballroom shoes.

Q: How can I pay for my classes?
A: We currently accept cash, checks, and gift certificates. Sorry, we don't accept credit cards.

Q: How do I find a partner for competitions?
A: We will assign a partner to you, once we've seen your commitment level, age , height, etc. Let us know that you are insterested in competing, so that we can be keeping our eyes open for good options.

Q: Is there parking near your studio?
A: At the Capitol Hill Ballroom, we have a small parking lot next to our studio. Street parking in the neighborhood is also easily available. In the event of icy weather, please be aware that our studio is at the top of a hill. At the Lenora's Ballroom location, there is a lot of free street parking available. The US Bank lot, and the lot at 7th and Washington can also be used after hours.

A: No! Classes are at one location or the other! Wednesday and Saturday Beginning classes are at the SE location. Tuesday Intermediate classes are at the SW location.
